Ohio State with dual sport offer – country’s No. 1 overall 2023 prospect

The Buckeyes offered a scholarship to Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove class of 2022 defensive tackle Christen Miller just over a week ago. This afternoon they have offered another Georgia star, 2023 defensive end Lebbeus Overton from Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton. Overton posted the offer on his Twitter account.

“Blessed to receive a dual sport scholarship to the university of Ohio State,” Overton posted.

Overton is also a star on the basketball court for Milton.  In fact, Overton has quite the family athletic background as can be seen in his 247Sports profile:

Two-sport athlete in football and basketball. His father Milton was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Oklahoma and is the current athletic director at Kennesaw State, working at Alabama, TCU Texas A&M and Florida A&M along the way. His mother Eunice Thomas starred on the volleyball court at Kentucky and later coached on the collegiate level before working in academic advising and admissions at many of those schools mentioned. His older brother Micaiah Overton is a redshirt freshman defensive lineman at Liberty.

In addition to Ohio State, Overton has a list of offers that also includes Georgia, Florida, Alabama, LSU, Michigan State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida State and many others.

The 6-foot-5 and 250-pound Overton is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country’s No. 1 overall 2023 prospect, the No. 1 strongside defensive end and the No. 1 prospect in Georgia.

The Buckeyes signed 5-star 2021 defensive end Jack Sawyer and will look to sign at least two class of 2023 defensive end. Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson is regarded by many as the country’s top college defensive line coach and is an outstanding recruiter too.
